The sixth edition of the charity campaign "The Bulgarian Christmas. Give hope to a child in need," has collected more than BGN 2.3 M so far for the treatment of sick children, purchase of medical equipment and consumables for children hospitals. The culmination of the initiative was the traditional concert performance held Thursday evening at the National "Ivan Vazov" Theater. This year's campaign is once again held under the initiative and the patronage of the Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov and First Lady Zorka Parvanova. The Presidential Administration, the Bulgarian National Television and Nova Televizia are the main organizers of the event. The Bulgarian mobile providers M-Tel, Vivatel and Globul have once again expressed their support to the charity campaign and provided services for donation calls and text messages. The funds will be used to help at least 33 children in urgent need of expensive treatment that is not covered by the Bulgarian Health Ministry and the National Insurance Health Fund. The children are selected through the letters sent by their parents and with the consultancy of medical experts. Some of those children would be the same ones that the charity has been helping in the last several years. The campaign ends on January 1.
