The prices of the technical services in Gabrovo municipality increased more than double since the beginning of 2009. The new Decree of the municipality which determines the local taxes, the cost of the services and the rights on the territory of Gabrovo municipality cancels the previous Decree from the 21.12.2006 and comes into effect on the 01.01.2009. The cost to obtain a plan of a property so far was 10 leva and now it is 20. The fee for obtaining permission for preparation of Detailed layout plan for change of Plan for building and regulation, Detailed layout plan for agricultural land, detailed layout plan for a settlement without a plan was 10 leva last year. The following prices are valid for 2009: 1. for change of layout plan when the active plan was approved less then 5 years ago - 150 leva 2. for change of layout plan when the active plan was approved more than 5 years ago - 100 leva 3. for agricultural land - 150 leva 4. for a property, which is part of a settlement without a plan - 50 leva The fees for obtaining planning permission, permission for repair, reconstruction of existing buildings was 20 leva so far. Since 2009 the following fees are applicable: for objects I category - 1000 leva.; II category - 800 leva.; III category - 600 leva.; IV category - 400 leva.; V category - 200 leva.; VI category - 50 leva. In an interview for Darik Radio on the 21.10.2008 the mayor of Gabrovo, Tomislav Donchev, explained the forthcoming increase of the fees for technical and administrative services: "Some of the fees for technical and administrative services in Gabrovo are 1000 times lowed than in the other municipalities. For example a planning permission in Gabrovo costs 20 leva while in Sliven it is 20000 leva." According to the mayor the increase is needed in order the municipality to generate more income to provide services of better quality. Geoimot will watch for the public reaction of this issue and the quality of the services provided by the municipality.
