What is Cadastre?

 The cadastre combines the key data about the location, boundaries and dimensions of real estate in Bulgaria, collected, presented, kept up-to-date and stored in order as per the Cadastre and Property Registry Act. The cadastre is created, maintained and kept by the Agency of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre at the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.
 The Agency of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre maintains the government geodetic, mapping and cadastral Fund (Geokartfond), which accepts, stores and provides information and materials according to the Law for the National archive fund.
 The cadastral map and cadastral records are graphic and written saved on paper or on magnetic, optical or other technical means. They are subject to approval, notification of interested parties and approval procedures set by the Cadastre and Property Registry Act. The approved cadastral maps and cadastral records are entered into the information system by the office of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre. The cadastral map contains:
 1. State boundaries, boundaries of administrative-territorial units, land borders and boundaries of areas with equally continued purpose;
 2. The boundaries and identifiers of landed estates;
 3. The buildings and their identifiers;
 4. The names of the streets, water streams and territories and other objects;
 5. Geodetical points;
 The cadastre and property registry are connected thanks to the identifier of each property. They are public and any citizen can obtain the needed information. The basic data for the real estate property records is obtained from the cadastre.
 The information systems communicate with the Unified classifier of administrative-territorial and territorial units (EKATTE), the Unified government register for economic operators in the Republic of Bulgaria; the Unified system for civil registration and administrative services to the population, the records of state and municipal property.
