More effective use of the properties in the State land fund.

Minister Valeri Tsvetanov presented the policy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food for the effective use of land by the State land fund during the session of the Committee on Agriculture and Forestry. Deals with properties from the State land fund were improved after the recent amendments of the Law on ownership and use of agricultural lands. Now municipalities may require pastures and common pastures to be provided from the State land fund for breeding pasture animals in accordance with the conditions for maintaining land in good agricultural and environmental condition. Common pastures and pastures from the State land fund, which are not provided to the municipalities, may be rented to persons who breed pasture animals or undertake to keep them in good agricultural and environmental condition for a period of 5 years. Ministry of Agriculture and Food approved the strategy for regrouping agricultural land, which proposes the establishment of Land Bank. Part of the free lands of the State land fund may serve as a land bank, which shall form the optimal size of agricultural properties owned by the State land fund by market mechanisms. Subsequently, these state properties can be sold, replaced, leased to young farmers for establishing farms meeting production needs. The idea of the ministry is the producers to benefit most opportunities provided under the program for rural development of competitive structure of agriculture. The size of the State land fund is estimated at around 235 000 hectares of private state agricultural land and the directors of the regional directorates "Agriculture" organize procedures for its use on the territory of 28 administrative districts in the country.
